Shanghai Masters: Hurkacz wins the trophy

Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 16 seed, won the Shanghai Masters trophy by edging out Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (8) at the Qi Zhong Stadium on Sunday night.
Hurkacz, ranked No 17, beat Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis (7-6 (5), 6-4), qualifier Yu Hsiou Hsu (6-4, 6-4), Chinese Zhizhen Zhang (7-6 (6), 4-6, 7-6 (4)), Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (4-6, 6-1, 6-3) and American Sebastian Korda, the No 26 seed (6-3, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Shanghai tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Rublev, ranked No 7, defeated Frenchman Quentin Halys (6-4, 7-5), Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 31 seed (6-3, 6-0), American Tommy Paul, the No 12 seed (7-5, 7-5), Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 32 seed (6-2, 6-3) and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 18 seed (7-6 (7), 6-3).
