Australian Christopher O’Connell advanced to the last 16 of the Sofia Open by edging out Serb Hamad Medjedovic 6-7 (3), 6-1, 7-6 (2) on Tuesday night.
O’Connell, ranked No 66, will face the winner of the match between Austrian Sebastian Ofner, the No 7 seed, and Ukrainian qualifier Vitaliy Sachko next.
