Struggling Rune’s woes continue as Dane beaten by Kecmanovic in Stockholm

Serb Miomir Kecmanovic defeated Dane Holger Rune, the top seed, 7-6 (3), 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Stockholm Open at the Kungliga Tennishallen.

It is Rune’s seventh defeat in eight matches, stretching back to his quarter-final defeat by Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon this summer.

Kecmanovic, ranked No 53, will play the winner of the match between Swede wildcard Elias Ymer and Croat qualifier Dino Prizmic next.

The Serb won against Swede wildcard Karl Friberg (6-4, 6-2) ahead of his victory.
