Stockholm Open: Kotov upsets Griekspoor to reach semis

The Russian will meet the winner of the match between Serb Miomir Kecmanovic and Swede wildcard Elias Ymer next

Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov moved into the last four of the Stockholm Open by winning against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 3 seed, 7-6 (4), 6-2 at the Kungliga Tennishallen on Friday.

Kotov, ranked No 109 in the world, will face the winner of the match between Serb Miomir Kecmanovic and Swede wildcard Elias Ymer next.

In the previous rounds, the Russian edged out American Christopher Eubanks, the No 7 seed (6-7 (2), 6-3, 7-6 (5)) and defeated Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-4, 7-5).

Griekspoor, ranked No 25, won against Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (7-6 (3), 6-4) in the previous round of the Stockholm tournament.
