Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 4 seed, reached the last four of the Stuttgart Open by defeating German wildcard Justin Engel 7-6 (3), 6-3 at Tennisclub Weissenhof Stuttgart on Friday.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 29, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian qualifier Marton Fucsovics and American Taylor Fritz, the second seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the Canadian won against Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (6-4, 6-4).

Engel, ranked No 281, edged out Australian qualifier James Duckworth (4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5)) and won against American Alex Michelsen, the No 7 seed (6-4, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
