Stuttgart Open: Top seed Zverev books spot in quarter-finals

Alexander Zverev beat Corentin Moutet 6-2, 7-6 (7) on Thursday. He’ll play the winner of the match between Learner Tien and No 6 seed Brandon Nakashima in the next round

German Alexander Zverev, the top seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Open by defeating Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-2, 7-6 (7) at Tennisclub Weissenhof Stuttgart on Thursday.

Zverev, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between Learner Tien and No 6 seed Brandon Nakashima next.

In the previous round of the Stuttgart tournament, Moutet, ranked No 91, won against Italian wildcard Fabio Fognini (6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-3).
