Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 5 seed, beat Argentinian Diego Schwartzman 6-4, 6-4 to move into the second round of the Swiss Indoors at the Halle Saint-Jacques in Basel.
De Minaur, ranked No 13, will face Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor next.
