Toronto Masters: Musetti wins first match since Roland-Garros

Italian Lorenzo Musetti, currently ranked No. 10 and seeded third in Toronto, defeated Australian qualifier James Duckworth 7-5, 6-1 on Tuesday to advance to the third round of the Masters 1000 event at the Aviva Centre.
This victory marked Musetti’s first match win since the Roland-Garros semi-finals, the tournament where he retired; it comes after a disappointing early exit at Wimbledon and a second-round loss in Washington.
His next match in Toronto will be against American Alex Michelsen. Duckworth, who is ranked 108, reached this stage of the tournament by overcoming China’s Juncheng Shang 6-3, 7-6(3) in the previous round.
