US Clay Court Championships: Hanfmann through to semi-finals
Yannick Hanfmann won against Tomas Machac 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday night and will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 8 seed, and Chilean Cristian Garin in the next round

German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann won against Czech qualifier Tomas Machac 6-2, 6-1 to reach the semi-finals of the US Clay Court Championships at River Oaks Country Club in Houston on Saturday night.
Hanfmann, ranked No 134, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 8 seed, and Chilean Cristian Garin next.
The German beat Japanese qualifier Yosuke Watanuki (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) and American Tommy Paul, the second seed (7-6 (6), 6-2) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Machac, ranked No 138, defeated American wildcard Jack Sock (6-2, 6-4) and American Marcos Giron, the No 7 seed (6-4, 6-4).
