Cressy serves-and-volleys his way to Winston-Salem quarter-finals
Maxime Cressy edged out Lorenzo Sonego 6-7 (4), 6-2, 7-6 (3) on Wednesday night. He’ll face Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the next round
American Maxime Cressy, the No 4 seed, reached the last 8 of the Winston-Salem Open by edging out Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the No 14 seed, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 7-6 (3) at Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Wednesday night.
Cressy, ranked No 34, will face Frenchman Adrian Mannarino next.
Ahead of his victory, the American won against Australian James Duckworth (6-3, 6-3).
Sonego, ranked No 63, defeated Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (7-5, 6-1) in the previous round of the Winston-Salem.
