Jakub Mensik beat Georgian qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-1, 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-3 to move into the second round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Monday.

Mensik, ranked No 48, will play Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 6 seed, next.
