Australian Open: Tauson advances to third round

Dane Clara Tauson won against German Tatjana Maria 6-2, 6-2 to move into the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Wednesday.

Tauson, ranked No 42, will play the winner of the match between Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, and Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro next.

The 22-year-old Dane edged out No 29 seed Linda Noskova (5-7, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the first Grand Slam tournament of the 2025 season.
