Former British No 1 and six-time Grand Slam semi-finalist Tim Henman has been named Team Europe’s new vice-captain for the Laver Cup as from the 2025 edition in San Francisco from September 19-21.

He will be supporting captain Yannick Noah, and takes over from Sweden’s Thomas Enqvist, who has been in post since the first-ever Laver Cup, back in 2017 in Prague.

Henman won 15 ATP titles during his career and reached a highest ranking of World No 4. Since retirement, he has been a board member at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, and worked extensively in the media.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Team Europe as vice-captain,” said Henman. “Having watched the Laver Cup as a pundit and seeing first-hand the intensity, the quality of tennis and the passion and interaction between the players on the bench, I know how special this event is.

“Being invited by Yannick to be part of the Laver Cup is a great honour and I’m really looking forward to working alongside him and the team to continue Europe’s winning tradition.”

“Tim brings with him a wealth of experience and passion for the game, and his insights will be invaluable to our team,” added Noah. “He has always been a fierce competitor and a great leader on and off the court. I’m delighted to have him by my side as we aim to defend our title in San Francisco this September.”

Team World’s new captain Andre Agassi has recently named Pat Rafter as his vice-captain.

World No 2 Alexander Zverev and World No 3  Carlos Alcaraz will represent Team Europe this year, with Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton on Team World.
