Iga Swiatek took the Coupe Suzanne-Lenglen out for an adventure today – making amends for the unfortunate moment during the trophy ceremony where her vigorous lift knocked its lid off.

FFT president Gilles Moretton was on hand to pick up the trophy lid as the new champion continued to smile for the cameras.

And on Sunday morning, Swiatek and the now-intact cup posed for more photos in Paris.

Asked about the incident in her post-match press conference, the world No 1 said: “Yeah, I’m sorry for that,” adding: “I honestly felt like I’m holding it with my finger, so I guess all these emotions, I don’t know, caused that.

“Sorry. I don’t mean to be disrespectful. I’m glad that Suzanne Lenglen trophy is fine and it won’t happen again probably, but we’ll see!

“I just hope I’m going to have a chance to hold it again in future years.”
