Roland-Garros: Cirstea first player to reach second round of 2022 French Open

Romanian Sorana Cirstea was the first winner on Day 1 of Roland-Garros after winning against German Tatjana Maria 6-3, 6-3 at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Sunday.
Cirstea, ranked No 27, will play the winner of the next match between American Sloane Stephens and German qualifier Jule Niemeier next.
Seeded 26th, Cirstea is playing her 14th main draw at the French Open and her best effort was reaching the quarter-finals in 2009.
