Roland-Garros: Cuevas takes out Brooksby in first upset on men’s side

Pablo Cuevas defeated Jenson Brooksby 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 and will face Slovenian Aljaz Bedene in the second round

Uruguay’s Pablo Cuevas defeated 31st seeded American Jenson Brooksby 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 to move into the second round of Roland-Garros in Paris on Sunday.

Cuevas, ranked No 118, will play Slovenian Aljaz Bedene next.

Brooksby is the first men’s seed to go down at the 2022 French Open. Two Top 10 seeds on the women’s side, No 6 Ons Jabeur and No 10 Garbine Muguruza, were knocked out in the first round on Sunday.
