US Open: Fernandez sets up Sabalenka showdown in third round
The Canadian won against Elsa Jacquemot 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the second round on Wednesday

Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 31 seed, advanced to the third round of the US Open by defeating Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in New York on Wednesday.
Fernandez, ranked No 33 and the 2021 finalist here, will face world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka next at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The 22-year-old Canadian won against qualifier Rebecca Marino (6-2, 6-1) earlier in the week.
In the previous round, Jacquemot, ranked No 98, won against Czech Marie Bouzkova (6-4, 6-3).
