US Open: Jarry recovers to beat Michelson and move into third round, meets De Minaur next

Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 23 seed, reached the third round of the US Open by winning against American wildcard Alex Michelsen 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Jarry, ranked No 25, will play Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 13 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Flushing Meadows tournament, the Chilean edged out Frenchman Luca Van Assche (6-3, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (3)).

Michelsen, ranked No 127, defeated Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas (6-4, 6-3, 6-4) during the first round of the Flushing Meadows tournament.
