US Open: Wolf confirms and books spot in third round

American wildcard J.J. Wolf won against Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (4-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-3) to reach the third round of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Wednesday.

Wolf, ranked No 87, will play the winner of the match between Australian Nick Kyrgios, the No 23 seed, and Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi next.

Ahead of his victory, the American defeated Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 16 seed (6-4, 6-4, 6-4).

Tabilo, ranked No 71, won against Pole Kamil Majchrzak (6-1, 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-1) in the previous round of the Flushing Meadows.
