Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 7 seed, defeated American Emma Navarro, the No 10 seed, 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the last eight of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday evening.
Andreeva, ranked No 7, will play Swiss Belinda Bencic next.
Ahead of her victory, the 18-year-old Russian won against American Hailey Baptiste (6-1, 6-3), Italian Lucia Bronzetti (6-1, 7-6 (4)) and Egyptian Mayar Sherif (6-3, 6-3).
Navarro, ranked No 10, beat Czech Barbora Krejcikova, the No 17 seed (2-6, 6-3, 6-4), Russian Veronika Kudermetova (6-1, 6-2) and Czech wildcard Petra Kvitova (6-3, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
