After reaching back-to-back semi-finals on home soil at Stuttgart and Halle, the 28-year-old has crossed borders but is playing the same solid tennis.
No 32 seed Oscar Otte won against compatriot Peter Gojowczyk 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the second round of Wimbledon in London on Monday evening.
