After Arthur Fils, it’s Casper Ruud’s turn to withdraw from Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the 2025 season. In a statement published on the Norwegian news agency NTB, his manager Tina Falster gave more details: “He’s back on the courts and things are improving, but unfortunately it’s a little too early to be playing best-of-five-set matches.”

Ruud lost in the second round of the French Open to Portugal’s Nuno Borges and admitted in a press conference that he had been suffering from a left knee injury since the start of the clay-court season.

A few days ago, the Norwegian had already announced his withdrawal from next week’s ATP 250 tournament in Mallorca. Ranked 16th in the world, Casper Ruud will miss a Grand Slam tournament for the first time since the 2022 Australian Open.

The 26-year-old has never performed well at Wimbledon. In five appearances, he has never managed to get beyond the second round.
