Pole Magda Linette advanced to the second round of Wimbledon by defeating Mexican qualifier Fernanda Contreras Gomez 6-1, 6-4 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday evening.
Linette, ranked No 65, will play Angelique Kerber, the No 15 seed, next.
