Wimbledon ALERT: Anisimova beats Sabalenka to reach final
The American will play the winner of the match between Swiss Belinda Bencic and Pole Iga Swiatek, the No 8 seed, in the final

American Amanda Anisimova, the No 13 seed, moved into the final of Wimbledon by edging out Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in London on Thursday.
Anisimova, ranked No 12, will face the winner of the match between Swiss Belinda Bencic and Pole Iga Swiatek, the No 8 seed, next at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
The American defeated Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (6-1, 7-6 (9)), Czech Linda Noskova, the No 30 seed (6-2, 5-7, 6-4), Hungarian Dalma Galfi (6-3, 5-7, 6-3), Mexican Renata Zarazua (6-4, 6-3) and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (6-0, 6-0) earlier in the week.
In the previous rounds of the tournament, Sabalenka, ranked No 1, won against German Laura Siegemund (4-6, 6-2, 6-4), Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 24 seed (6-4, 7-6 (4)), Englishwoman Emma Raducanu (7-6 (6), 6-4), Czech Marie Bouzkova (7-6 (4), 6-4) and Canadian qualifier Carson Branstine (6-1, 7-5).
