Djere tops Shelton, advances to third round

Serb Laslo Djere won against American Ben Shelton, the No 32 seed, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3 to move into the third round of Wimbledon at the All England Club in London on Thursday evening.

Djere, ranked No 60, will face the winner of the match between Andy Murray and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, next.

The Serb edged out American Maxime Cressy (6-7 (5), 7-6 (3), 7-6 (8), 7-6 (7)) in the previous round of The Championships.

In the previous round of The Championships, Shelton, ranked No 36, beat Japanese lucky loser Taro Daniel (6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3).
