Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, lifted the Wimbledon trophy by edging out Australian Nick Kyrgios 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3) at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Sunday afternoon.

This is Djokovic’s 7th Wimbledon title and 21th major tournament.

Djokovic, ranked No 3, defeated Soon Woo Kwon (6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4), Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis (6-1, 6-4, 6-2), No 25 seed Miomir Kecmanovic (6-0, 6-3, 6-4), Dutch wildcard Tim van Rijthoven (6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2), Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 10 seed (5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2) and No 9 seed Cameron Norrie (2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4) ahead of his victory.

In the previous rounds, Kyrgios, ranked No 40, beat wildcard Paul Jubb (3-6, 6-1, 7-5, 6-7 (3), 7-5), Serb Filip Krajinovic, the No 26 seed (6-2, 6-3, 6-1), Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 4 seed (6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (7)), American Brandon Nakashima (4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-2), Chilean Cristian Garin (6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (5)) and Spaniard Rafael Nadal, the second seed (W/O).
