Wimbledon: O’Connell impresses in straight sets win over Vesely, meets Eubanks in third round

Australian Christopher O’Connell moved into the third round of Wimbledon by winning against Jiri Vesely 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London.

O’Connell, ranked No 73 in the world, will face American Christopher Eubanks next.

In the previous round of The Championships, the Australian edged out Serb qualifier Hamad Medjedovic (7-5, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4).

Jiri Vesely beat American Sebastian Korda, the No 22 seed (7-6 (7), 4-6, 6-2, 6-3) in the first round of The Championships.
