Wimbledon: Tiafoe advances to third round, to meet Dimitrov

American Frances Tiafoe, the No 10 seed, beat Swiss qualifier Dominic Stricker 7-6 (11), 6-4, 6-2 to move into the third round of Wimbledon at the All England Club in London on Thursday evening.

Tiafoe, ranked No 10, will face the winner of the match between Belarusian Ilya Ivashka and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 21 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the American won against Chinese Yibing Wu (7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-4).

Stricker, ranked No 117, won against Australian Alexei Popyrin (3-6, 6-3, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5) in the previous round of The Championships.
