The All England Club announced on Tuesday 2 June that it will stage The Wimbledon Court in Central Park, New York, from Friday 26 to Monday 29 June 2026. According to the release, the famous Wollman Rink will, for the first time, be transformed into a pop-up grass court, installed and maintained by Wimbledon’s groundstaff.
The Club says the event follows The Hill in New York, which Wimbledon has staged every year since 2022.
Per the release, the four-day event is headlined by The Wimbledon Court Invitational, an exhibition doubles match scheduled for the afternoon of Friday 26 June. The participating players, the Club states, will be revealed in the coming days. Free tickets are available through a public ballot.
The release states that on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June, fans will have the chance to play on the pop-up court, presented by Barclays, Official Banking Partner of The Championships, with slots offered via ballot.
On Monday 29 June, according to the release, selected 15-24 year olds from Barclays Net Work will take part in a tennis session. The Club states the Bronx-based programme, run in partnership with nonprofit Good Shepherd Services, has “upskilled 143 young people and supported 49 into employment” since its inception.
The event concludes with a live screening of Wimbledon’s opening day on giant screens in Central Park.
Usama Al-Qassab, Marketing and Commercial Director at the AELTC, is quoted in the release: “We are delighted to bring Wimbledon to the US for a fifth successive year, giving New York’s devoted tennis fans a flavour of Wimbledon.” He added that the event would bring the celebration of “tennis in an English garden” to Central Park.
The release states the ballot closes at 11:59pm EDT on Wednesday 10 June 2026, open to legal U.S. residents aged 18 or older.
