Fresh off her biggest title since the summer of 2021, 33-year-old Petra Kvitova, this year’s Miami Open champion, has made her return to the WTA top 10 for the first time since September of 2021.

The former world No 2, who defeated Elena Rybakina for the Miami Open title on Saturday jumps two spots to take her place at No 10 in the world.

Resurgent Kvitova is 17-5 on the season, and 5-3 against the top 20.

Kvitova last ranked No 2 in May of 2019. She originally made her top 5 debut in October of 2011, the year she won her first Wimbledon title. She hit No 2 for the first time on October 31, 2011, nearly twelve years ago.

Cirstea – biggest riser (+33 to 41)

Another brilliant week for Resurgent Romanian Sorana Cirstea lands her inside the top 50 once again. After a semi-final run in Miami, she’s up 33 spots to No 41. The former world No 21 is the biggest riser inside the WTA’s top 100 this week.

Trevisan top 20 debut, Potapova career-high 25

Italy’s Martina Trevisan, who reached the quarter-finals at Miami, rises four spots to a career-high of No 20 in the world, while Anastasia Potapova, who also reached the quarter-finals in South Florida, jumps a spot to No 25.

Trevisan, the No 1 Italian woman, has some points to defend this spring. She reached the final at Rabat last May, then notched her career-best Grand Slam appearance at Roland-Garros.

22-year-old Potapova won her second career title at Linz earlier this year.

Russia’s Varvara Gracheva, who reached the round of 16 in Miami, is also on the rise this week. The 22-year-old is up eight spots to a career-high ranking of 46. It’s a top 50 debut for a player who was ranked No 100 when she took the court in Auckland in early January.

Gracheva is 21-11 including qualifying this year, with a final at Austin and a round of 16 appearance at both Indian Wells and Miami.
