Alert: Alexandrova beats Pegula in Miami quarter-finals
Ekaterina Alexandrova battled past Jessica Pegula in three sets on Wednesday in Miami. Alexandrova will face American Danielle Collins in the semi-finals.

Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 14 seed, edged out American Jessica Pegula, the No 5 seed, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 to reach the last four of the Miami Open at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday night.
Alexandrova, ranked No 16, will face American Danielle Collins in the semis.
The Russian previously defeated Croat Donna Vekic (6-3, 6-4), No 21 seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) and No 1 seed Iga Swiatek (6-4, 6-2).
Earlier in the tournament, the fifth-ranked Pegula defeated China’s Lin Zhu (6-4, 4-1 ret.), Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 31 seed (7-5, 6-4) and No 20 seed Emma Navarro (7-6 (1), 6-3).
