Andreescu beats top seed Kasatkina to reach Bad Homburg semi-final

Canadian Bianca Andreescu reached the semi-finals of the Bad Homburg Open by beating Russian Daria Kasatkina, the top seed, 6-4, 6-1 at Bod Hombourg vor der Höhe in Bad Hombourg on Thursday.
Andreescu, ranked No 64, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Simona Halep, the No 4 seed, and American Amanda Anisimova, the No 6 seed, next.
The 22-year-old Canadian won against Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 7 seed (6-3, 6-1) and qualifier Katie Swan (6-4, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Kasatkina, ranked No 13, won against German Andrea Petkovic (6-1, 6-2) and German wildcard Jule Niemeier (6-1, 3-6, 6-1).
