Spaniard Cristina Bucsa, the No 3 seed, moved into the second round of the Angers Open by defeating Frenchwoman Alice Robbe 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 at the Arena Loire de Trélazé.
Bucsa, ranked No 90, will face Croat Lea Boskovic next.
