Italian Jasmine Paolini, the second seed, advanced to the last eight of the Bad Homburg Open by beating Canadian Leylah Fernandez 7-6 (8), 7-6 (6) at the Bad Homburg vor der Höhe on Tuesday.
The 2024 Wimbledon finalist saved two set points in the first set and three in the second!
Paolini, ranked No 4, will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 7 seed, and Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia next.
Fernandez, ranked No 29, won against German wildcard Tatjana Maria (6-0, 7-6 (1)) in the previous round of the Bad Homburg tournament.
