German wildcard Sabine Lisicki reached the last 16 of the Barranquilla Open by winning against Swiss Simona Waltert, the No 6 seed, 7-5, 7-6 (5).
Lisicki, ranked No 395, will play the winner of the match between Australian Daria Saville and German qualifier Jasmin Jebawy next.
