Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic edged out American Katrina Scott 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the last 16 of the Barranquilla Open on Tuesday evening.

Mladenovic, ranked No 190, will play Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 8 seed, next.
