Bogota Open: Bouzkova edges Siegemund in just under three hours

Top seed Marie Bouzkova edged out German Laura Siegemund, the No 7 seed, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 to move into the semi-finals of the Bogota Open at the Country Club Bogota on Friday night.

Bouzkova, ranked No 42, will face Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 8 seed, next.

Ahead of her victory, Marie Bouzkova won against Canadian Rebecca Marino (6-0, 6-3) and American Hailey Baptiste (6-3, 6-4).

Siegemund, ranked No 89, defeated Belarusian qualifier Iryna Shymanovich (7-6 (5), 7-5) and Francesca Jones (6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
