Bogota: 16-year-old Pareja continues dream week by reaching semi-finals
Pareja will play Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa for a place in the final

American qualifier Julieta Pareja beat Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean 7-6 (5), 6-3 to move into the semi-finals of the Bogota Open at the Country Club Bogota on Friday evening.
The American teen will play Polish qualifier Katarzyna Kawa next. She is the youngest player to reach a WTA Tour level semi-final since Coco Gauff in 2019.
Ahead of her victory, the 16-year-old American won against Colombian wildcard Maria Jose Sanchez Uribe (6-1, 6-1) and Romanian lucky loser Patricia Maria Tig (6-3, 7-6 (3)). She has not dropped a set in five matches this week (including two wins in the qualifying draw) and will break into the top 350 as a result of her run this week.
Jeanjean, ranked No 116, won against Liechtensteiner Kathinka von Deichmann (6-4, 7-5) and Selena Janicijevic (6-4, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Bogota tournament.
