Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 6 seed, edged out Serb qualifier Natalija Stevanovic 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 to advance to the last 8 of the Bogota Open at the Country Club Bogota on Wednesday.
Pigossi, ranked No 101, will face Francesca Jones next.
The Brazilian defeated Colombian wildcard Antonia Samudio (6-1, 6-0) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Colombia Open, Stevanovic, ranked No 224, won against Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera (7-6 (1), 7-5).
