Bolivia Open: Arango prevails in close first set, before dominating second to reach last four
The Colombian survived a close first set, before upping her game over Romero Gormaz to make the semi-finals

Colombian Emiliana Arango reached the last 4 of the Bolivia Open by beating Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz 7-5, 6-1 on Friday.
Arango, ranked No 234, will face Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 7 seed, next.
The Colombian benefited from the abandonment of Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the top seed (2-1) and won against Chilean wildcard Antonia Vergara Rivera (6-0, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Romero Gormaz, ranked No 167, benefited from the abandonment of Italian Nuria Brancaccio (6-4, 3-6, 5-0) and No 8 seed Francesca Jones (3-6, 6-3, 5-3 ret.).
