Colombian Emiliana Arango moved into the quarter-finals of the Bolivia Open by beating Chilean wildcard Antonia Vergara Rivera 6-0, 6-2 on Wednesday night.
Arango, ranked No 234, will play Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz next.
Ahead of her victory, the Colombian benefited from the abandonment of Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the top seed (2-1).
Antonia Vergara Rivera won against qualifier Natalia Trigosso (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round.
