Brisbane Open: Sabalenka through to semi-finals to face Andreeva

World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka, from Belarus, moved into the semi-finals of the Brisbane Open by beating Marie Bouzkova 6-3, 6-4 at the Queensland Tennis Centre on Friday.
Sabalenka, ranked No 1, will face Russian teen Mirra Andreeva, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of her win today, the Belarusian won against Mexican Renata Zarazua (6-4, 6-0) Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 15 seed (7-6 (2), 6-4).
Bouzkova, ranked No 44, won against Australian wildcard Talia Gibson (7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3) and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 7 seed (7-6, 6-4) and Victoria Azarenka, the No 10 seed (6-4, 6-4) earlier in the week.

- Polina Kudermetova (Q) beat Ashlyn Krueger: 7-6 (5), 6-3
- Mirra Andreeva beat Ons Jabeur: 6-4, 7-6 (2)
- Anhelina Kalinina beat Kimberly Birrell (WC): 4-6, 6-1, 7-5
