Budapest Open: Davis reaches quarter-finals

Lauren Davis won against Emma Navarro 7-5, 6-4 on Wednesday. She’ll play the winner of the match between Russian lucky loser Erika Andreeva and Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin in the next round

Lauren Davis moved into the quarter-finals of the Budapest Open by defeating qualifier Emma Navarro 7-5, 6-4 at Római Tennis Academy on Wednesday.

Davis, ranked No 97, will play the winner of the match between Russian lucky loser Erika Andreeva and Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin next.

Lauren Davis won against Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (6-3, 6-3) ahead of her victory.

In the previous round, Navarro, ranked No 132, won against Hungarian Dalma Galfi (7-6 (5), 7-6 (3)).
