Cali Open: Ortenzi through to quarter-finals
Jazmin Ortenzi won against Valentina Mediorreal Arias 6-0, 6-1 on Wednesday evening and will face the winner of the match between Slovak Veronika Erjavec and Francesca Jones in the next round
Argentinian Jazmin Ortenzi advanced to the quarter-finals of the Cali Open by beating Colombian wildcard Valentina Mediorreal Arias 6-0, 6-1 on Wednesday evening.
Ortenzi, ranked No 289, will play the winner of the match between Slovak Veronika Erjavec and Francesca Jones next.
The 22-year-old Argentinian won against Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 6 seed (6-3, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Valentina Mediorreal Arias won against Russian qualifier Daria Kudashova (6-7 (8), 6-4, 6-3).
