Tubello comes from a set down to beat Grabher and win the Curitiba Open

Alice Tubello won the Curitiba Open on Sunday, coming from a set down to beat second seed Julia Grabher 3-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (2) in 3 hours and 22 minutes. The Frenchwoman, ranked No. 219, claims the title at the WTA 125 event in Brazil.

The final went the distance after a first-set loss, with Tubello winning both tie-breaks, the second for the loss of only two points.

Tubello had needed only 55 minutes to beat Nauhany Vitoria Leme Da Silva 6-0, 6-1 in the semi-finals. Earlier in the week, she knocked out fourth seed Laura Samson 6-0, 6-4 in the first round, qualifier Luna Maria Cinalli 6-4, 6-3, and eighth seed Jazmin Ortenzi 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the quarter-finals.

Grabher, ranked No. 102, had beaten seventh seed Julia Riera 6-3, 6-3 in the semi-finals, after wins over Carolina Alves, Maria Lourdes Carle and fifth seed Leyre Romero Gormaz.
