Argentinian Solana Sierra defeated Ukrainian Valeriya Strakhova 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 to reach the last 16 of the Cali Open on Tuesday.
Sierra, ranked No 156, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Anca Todoni, the No 8 seed, and Slovak qualifier Martina Okalova next.
