Canadian Open: Keys reaches last eight beating Muchova

American Madison Keys, the No 6 seed, edged out Czech Karolina Muchova, the No 11 seed, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Canadian Open at the IGA Stadium in Montreal on Sunday.
Keys, ranked No 8, will play the winner of the match between Dane Clara Tauson, the No 16 seed, and Pole Iga Swiatek, the second seed, next.
In the previous rounds of the Rogers Cup, the American beat Catherine McNally (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) and German qualifier Laura Siegemund (6-2, 6-1).
Muchova, ranked No 14, won against Swiss Belinda Bencic, the No 17 seed (6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-3) and Croat qualifier Antonia Ruzic (7-5, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
