Canberra Open: Eala books spot in last four
The 19-year-old will meet the winner of the match between Chinese Sijia Wei and Swiss qualifier Simona Waltert in the next round

Filipino qualifier Alexandra Eala beat Australian wildcard Taylah Preston 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the Canberra Open on Thursday.
Eala, ranked No 147, will face the winner of the match between Chinese Sijia Wei and Swiss qualifier Simona Waltert next at the Canberra Tennis Centre.
The 19-year-old Filipino won against Austrian qualifier Sinja Kraus (6-2, 6-4) and Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono (6-3, 6-3) earlier in the week.
In the previous rounds of the tournament, Preston, ranked No 170, defeated qualifier Ipek Oz (6-3, 7-6 (4)) and Canadian Marina Stakusic, the No 6 seed (4-6, 6-3, 6-1).
