Cancun Tennis Open: Arango eases past Janicijevic to move into semi-finals

Colombian Emiliana Arango moved into the semi-finals of the Cancun Tennis Open by winning against French lucky loser Selena Janicijevic 6-1, 7-5 on Friday night.
Arango, ranked No 169, will play No 8 seed Francesca Jones next.
The Colombian beat American qualifier Whitney Osuigwe (6-4, 6-4) and Canadian Marina Stakusic, the No 4 seed (6-4, 7-6) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Janicijevic, ranked No 176, defeated Spaniard Irene Burillo Escorihuela (6-3, 6-4) and American Varvara Lepchenko, the No 5 seed (7-6 (6), 7-6 (3)).
