No 5 seed Anna Blinkova edged out Kamilla Rakhimova 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 to advance to the last 16 of the Catalonia Open on Wednesday afternoon.
Blinkova, ranked No 64, will face Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska next.
